President Donald Trump is expected to have the wedding invitations from his wedding to Melania Trump on hand at the White House in just over two weeks.
The White House said the president’s wife, Melania, and their guests will receive the invitations at the Capitol on May 20.
A White House official told CNN that the president will send them out “in the coming weeks.”
Aides to the president and Melania have been traveling with the invitations and have been sending them out since Monday.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday that the White, House Correspondents Association dinner is not a priority for the president.
“The president’s got a family, so he’s going to get them all the invitations he wants,” she said.
Trump, who is celebrating his 40th birthday, is expected on Friday to deliver a speech at the annual Congressional Black Caucus Dinner in Washington, DC, where he will announce his 2020 presidential campaign.
In May, he invited former President Barack Obama to the White Senate.
The president and first lady are also expected to attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on July 25.
