In some cases, invitations for baby showers are not required and are optional, like a $150,000 party or a $1 million party.
You can even choose to cancel a baby showers invite without actually going to the party, according to the rules of the baby shower invitation.
But many parents don’t know how much it is going to cost to attend a baby pool party, a $15 million party or even a $100 million party and are surprised when they’re told.
“We’re going to do something stupid with the invite,” a mom of two told ABC News.
ABC News was unable to verify the cost of a baby swimming pool party.
And if you cancel a birthday party invitation, the cost for a party can be prohibitive, like $10,000.
But that’s what happened to this mother and her husband.
ABCnews.com/BabypoolPartyThe family got an invitation from their friend and wanted to have a baby party, so they got a $20,000 invitation for a pool party and paid $10.50 for a baby bathtub party.
“They said, ‘Oh, you’ve got to buy the water and get the towels,’ ” the mother told ABC.
But she did have to pay for all of the towels and water and was still only paying $10 a towel.
ABCNews.com The couple was shocked when they got their invitations.
“I was like, ‘You’re kidding me, you’re going crazy!'” she told ABCNews: “I went to the event, I had my friends over, and I asked, ‘What do I get?’
And they said, [the price of the water] is $1,000 per tub.
I’m like, what is that?
And they were like, $1.00 per tub.”
ABC News is reporting that some parents are getting tricked into paying more than $1 for baby shower parties.
ABCNEWS.com is trying to get more details about how much money is involved in baby pool parties and baby bathtubs.
The website is also looking for parents who have a large pool or bathtub or baby shower and would like to help educate others about the costs of baby shower events.ABCNEWS..com
